FIVE TYPE OF GIVING THAT INSPIRES GOD TO BLESS US
Blessing
is a divine kindness and provision that makes things pleasurable for mankind.
It is released from the spirit world as a reward of our good work or for the
good works of our fathers or mothers. Many people enjoy blessing not
necessarily for what they have done but for the good their fathers or mother
has done in time past. To us Christians, we enjoy the blessings of Abraham
because Abraham is our spiritual father. He obtained God’s kindness by his good
work of faith and that blessing extended to his children. We enjoy Abraham’s
blessing today because he is our father of faith, our spiritual father. Giving
is an act of expression of love. Love is charity and charity is giving. “For
God so love the world that He give…”
True love propels one to give. The greatest commandment is spiritual
book, the holy bible, is love of God and love of mankind as express in the book
of Matthew chapter twenty two verses thirty seven to thirty nine. When we give
we are expressing love. And when we give we are attracting love in return. So
the giving comes from both sides. Giving to the poor blesses the giver. There
are five major types of giving that can touch God’s heart and activate the
grace of God for our blessing. These five types ‘of giving expresses our love
for God and our love for mankind. These are:
- GIVING
FOR CHURCH BUILDING PROJECT:
Church is the house of God where sinners are reconciled to God through the
teaching of God’s word. It is a place where people are trained to behave
like God through the teaching of the word of God. Church is God’s human
development centre. Church is God’s educational institution. Church is a
place where humanity is educated to be their best. Investing in church building expresses
our love for God and humanity and that will bring the love of God back to
us in return.
- GIVING
FOR GOSPEL PROMOTION.
Gospel is good news: It is the word of truth and redemption. It is the
word of the love of God. It is the word of reconciliation and reuniting of
mankind to God. Anyone who gives
for the publishing of the gospel is expressing his love for God and
humanity. He receives love in return from God.
- GIVING
TO HELP POOR CHILDREN AND THE NEEDY: Giving to the poor and the needy expresses our
love for humanity. People are God’s greatest possession on earth. We are
giving to God when give to the poor and the needy. It is not God’s desire
for anyone to suffer. Those who invest in lifting those who are down
inspire God to cause their own lifting. We are lifted when we lift the
poor and the downtrodden. Proverbs nineteen verse seventeen expresses this
truth as quoted; “He who has pity on
the poor lends to God and He will pay back what he has given”. Whenever
you give something to someone who does not have the capability to pay you
back, you lend to God. When you give to someone who has the capacity to
pay you back for the reason of getting a reward from that person, God will
not be involved in that case. This is because you are giving to get your
reward from you’re the person you are giving to. And there is nothing
wrong with that type of giving. Sometimes you give for PR and it is
allowed. But the most rewarding type of giving is the type that touches
God’s heart to bless you and when God’s blessing comes upon you, the
difference must be clear.
- GIVING
TO YOUR SPIRITUAL MENTORS/FATHERS:
Our pastors and teachers are our spiritual fathers and mentors. They gave
their lives for the service of God, giving to them is like giving to God
because they stand as representatives of God. Giving to your spiritual
fathers is an expression of love of God and humanity and there is a reward
for every act of love. True love is a give and take affair. You may not
have your reward immediately but it must surely come if you continue in
your giving practice.
- GIVING
TO YOUR PARENTS OR AGED PEOPLE:
Giving to your parents attracts blessing. It involves true love. When you
give to your parents, you may not expect much from them. You do it with a
heart of love. Any giving for the motive of love touches God’s heart to
bless the giver. You must tap into this type of giving even if you do not
have mother and father look for aged people you to give to from time to
time. Their prayer for you will activate the grace you need for the next
level.
